The Frontierswoman's League is an organisation that tries to provide all the supplies and services for life on the edges of the galaxy.
The League makes money both from offering these goods and services as well as selling natural resources back in settled space that they buy from miners, gas extractors, etc. on the frontier. There are also dues paid regularly by members to the League for the benefits of their continued membership.
The League began as a mutual aid and social organisation for women living on the edges of space.
Although a female identity is no longer a requirement for membership all officers of the League are referred to using female titles and pronouns in the context of their duties.
There are millions of members spread over the galaxy, mainly in the less civilised areas on the edges of explored space.
Sister: Forming the lowest leadership level, the Sisters are supervisors over mere employees and contractors.
Aunt: Local leader who runs a League facility or project, usually under the supervision of a Great-Aunt, but an Aunt may be given more autonomy for smaller posts or projects.
Great-Aunt: Coordinator of a large area of League operations, this area often ranges from a planet to a sector depending on the complexity of the post. Aunts also run the day-to-day operations at League central command locations.
Mother: One of the council that leads the entire organisation.
Grandmother: Alumnus member of the Mother's Council.
The League itself mostly deals in standard credits when selling its goods, paying its staff, etc., but it also issues deposit chits that act as a de facto currency in many places on the galactic frontier that are out of range of reliable transmissions with the Central Bank.
