Storage tokens (or locker tokens) are receipts for goods stored at a League Trading House. Having the token allows the bearer to retrieve the stored item from the Trading House where it is located.
The tokens are flat pieces of metal with their information engraved on their surface much like Deposit Chits. The information shown on a token is:
Date Stored: The date when the storage began.
Storage Cost: The rate for storing the item per day or month. Storage can be paid either with a connected commodity account, which will be automatically debited at the set rate. Payment can also be made at pick-up time.
Location: Which Trading House holds the stored item(s).
Description: A basic description of what is stored. This description is not a guarantee of quality. The Frontierswoman's League does not perform an appraisal of the goods stored and if you are accepting something stored with the Trading House the League highly encourages you to accompany the seller to the Trading House and examine the items for yourself before accepting them or offering payment.
Connected Account: If the payment for the storage is connected to a commodity account that will be indicated.
If a commodity account is being used to pay for storage then some or all of the information above will appear on any deposit chit for that account issued or updated afterward.
At least the date stored and storage cost will be included so that anyone looking at the chit can calculate the current value of the commodities in the account. A chit with this basic level of information can't be used to retrieve the stored item(s).
A chit of a connected account can be made a full storage token and so will allow the bearer to retrieve the stored item(s) and will have all of the above information etched onto it.
For a fee, stored items can be transferred between League Trading Houses and sometimes other facilities. The cost of the transfer depends on the volume and mass of the objects, the distance between Houses, and any special handling needed.
These transfers happen slowly as they are moved by the logistics vessels that ferry cargo between trading houses on a regular basis. Transfers within a solar system can take days or weeks and much longer for further distances.
Members of the League do have the option of linking any stored items to their Frontierswoman's League account. This is more secure as only they will be able to access those stored items backed up by biometric data.
Storage tokens are useful for instances when you need an item to be picked up by someone else, or you want to transfer something to another person without having to carry it around.
